J Johnstone Engineering recently fabricated and installed bespoke curved wall top railings at a property in Lessonhall near Wigton, Cumbria.
The railings were designed to follow the curve of an existing sandstone boundary wall, providing safe edge protection while complementing the traditional stonework of the property.
Bespoke Curved Railing Design
The project required approximately 20 metres of curved wall top railing, carefully fabricated to match the shape of the sandstone wall.
Producing curved railings requires accurate measuring and fabrication to ensure the finished sections align correctly with the wall during installation.
By fabricating the railings in-house, we were able to ensure the curvature and fixing points matched the layout of the existing wall.
Galvanised and Powder Coated Finish
To provide long-term durability, the railings were fully galvanised before being powder coated in an anthracite grey finish.
Galvanising protects the steel from corrosion, while powder coating provides a clean, durable finish that complements both modern and traditional properties.
The anthracite grey colour works particularly well against natural stonework such as the sandstone wall used in this project.
Fabricated in Our Silloth Workshop
All railing sections were fabricated in-house at our workshop in Silloth, Cumbria.
Producing the steelwork internally allows our team to ensure each section is manufactured accurately before being delivered to site for installation.
Installation at Lessonhall Near Wigton
Once fabrication and finishing were complete, the railing sections were delivered to Lessonhall near Wigton, where they were installed by our experienced on-site fitting team.
Careful positioning and fixing ensured the railings followed the curve of the sandstone wall while providing safe and secure edge protection.
